Playstyle: All-rounder · best clear in 0.5.0. Budget: league-start friendly · scales forever.

Verified performance

This build deals 1.2× the damage of a typical build on identical gear. Measured with the real Path of Building calculation engine on a standardised endgame gear baseline, so builds can be compared like for like. Your own numbers will differ with your actual gear and configuration.

Because every build is tested on the same defensive gear, survivability barely varies between them — damage is what separates them, and that is what this ranking measures.

How this build works

  1. Archmage: Socketed persistent buff — adds flat lightning damage to spells scaled by your maximum mana. This is a GEM, not a tree node: socket it and it converts your mana pool into a damage stat.
  2. Mind Over Matter: 30% of damage taken from mana before life — the same mana pool that fuels Archmage now also tanks hits. One stat, two jobs.
  3. Mana Tempest: Storm zone that amplifies your spells while consuming mana — cast Spark through it for a burst window that scales with the pool you built.
  4. Sigil of Power: Ground sigil that grows in stages as you spend mana inside it — Archmage's huge cast costs feed the sigil to max stage fast, then everything you cast inside hits harder.
  5. Force of Will: Stormweaver notable — verified in the Stormweaver ascendancy disc. Amplifies your spell output alongside the mana stack.
